Democrats have been pounding on House Speaker John Boehner ever since he suggested this week that Congress "ought to take a look at" tax breaks for oil companies.
Now comes this link between tax breaks for oil companies and tomorrow's royal wedding of Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has a new website, www.roilwedding.com, that "celebrates" the union of Republicans and Big Oil. (R+Oil sounds like royal ... Get it?)
There's an "invitation" with House Speaker John Boehner's picture superimposed on a wedding dress. "In lieu of gifts, please send corporate tax breaks at the expense of the middle class," it says.
President Obama called on Congress this week to repeal $4 billion in tax breaks for oil companies, right after Boehner made his comment to ABC News.
Oh, and the Democratic website notes the happy couple are registered at Halliburton, BP and Exxon Mobil.
